Johor Bahru or fondly known as JB is the state capital of Johor in southern Peninsular Malaysia just across the Causeway from Singapore on the Straits of Johor. Originally known as Tanjung Puteri, Johor Bahru was renamed in 1866 by Sultan Abu Bakar. The history of Johor plays a role in influencing and shaping the character and background of social and culture in Johor. Much of the character is best experienced through its people, arts, culture, food, lifestyles, and tradition.
Besides boasting its historical legacy, JB is now world renown with the FIRST Premium Outlet Center in South East Asia and the first LEGOLAND theme park in Asia-Pacific is set to open soon.
