WELCOME TO

JOHOR BAHRU

Johor Bahru or fondly known as JB is the state capital of Johor in southern Peninsular Malaysia just across the Causeway from Singapore on the Straits of Johor. Originally known as Tanjung Puteri, Johor Bahru was renamed in 1866 by Sultan Abu Bakar. The history of Johor plays a role in influencing and shaping the character and background of social and culture in Johor. Much of the character is best experienced through its people, arts, culture, food, lifestyles, and tradition.

Besides boasting its historical legacy, JB is now world renown with the FIRST Premium Outlet Center in South East Asia and the first LEGOLAND theme park in Asia-Pacific is set to open soon. Bigger things are in the works in JB under the Iskandar Malaysia blueprint so read on and marvel at the greatness of ‘The Jewel of Asia’.

JOHO at #twtupjohor @ IMIC 2012

3rd March 2012

It was on a sunny day when JOHO & #twitterjaya collaborated to host #twtupjohor@IMIC (Iskandar Malaysia Information Center) 2012. The event took place in IMIC Danga Bay from 2.00pm-10.30pm and it gathered more than 3500 people from in and outside of Johor Bahru. We had our JOHO CarBoots Family and also few local bands such as Statik,Medinee and J-neral on stage representing Johor Bahru and not forgetting our busking brothers and also our freestyle homeboy hiphop and we had Tokreemaw conducting a Film Screening on Independent Filmswith us that day. This was the first collaboration between JOHO and #twitterjaya but the chemistry was far from our expectations..kudos!

We would like to thank IMIC for such an awesome and informative venue making the target to bring the public to this place was a success and worth going. We would also like to thank other clothing labels that was with us that day such as Morning Rocket, Stickyboxworld,AkuDesign and friends from KL and SIngapore who actually came all the way to be with us at #twtupjohor.

This was the first event we produce in 2012 and it sure make us want to do and involve in more quality events for the state and Malaysia in the future, InsyaAllah.

Thanks again for coming and thanks for the understandings!

"with our love,trust and respect."

-JOHO-
